It was great having one of my best friends from Punahou school Coach Mark Campbell from Idaho State University come out this past Sunday and coach our kids. Coach Campbell is the strength and conditioning coach at ISU. The kids and the coaches learned a tremendous amount about power, speed, and agility. We came away with some cutting edge drills that the kids and school can use. There was also some interest from Coach Campbell on a couple of our kids that might possibly be able to play for ISU in the near future if everything works out. We are very thankful for the time that we had and look forward to him coming back next year.
Here is some of Coach Cambells credentials from the ISU website:
Coach Campbell has been a strength and conditioning coach for 21 years. He has 9 national certifications and has trained athletes of all ages and all sports. Coach Campbell was the defensive player of the year at Idaho State his senior year and tried out for the NFL and CFL. He started his career teaching coaching and training in Hawaii at Punahou High School. He then started his first personal training company. Coach Campbell’s clients included a Miss Hawaii winner, miss USA winner, miss universe winner, 2 NBA all-stars, 3 NFL all-pros, and many of his high school clients have earned college scholarships. Coach Campbell moved back to Pocatello in 1997 and joined Idaho State University in 2005. He became the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in 2007.

Rich Miano and Family
It was great having Rich Miano come out to Hawaii Football School a couple of weeks ago with his Ohana. He was able to talk to the kids about how important an education is. That education is important because it may one day lead to having a college scholarship. Rich also mentioned that a scholarship will one day help you have an income potential that is extensively more than just a high school education. The second main point that Rich focused on was the value of hard work. That by working hard you can accomplish your dreams. He mentioned about how he and Chad Owens “Walked On” at the University of Hawaii and worked hard. Then eventually because of their hard work they earned scholarships at UH, and then ultimately were drafted in National Football League. Anyway, it was great having Rich Miano come out to HFS. His son Kupa’a has joined HFS as well and we look forward to more lessons taught by Rich Miano.
Aloha,
Coach Chris
